    This course has been specially designed to focus on criminology as a discipline, with contributions from professional practitioners that operate within the Criminal Justice System. Exploration of the linkage between the core subjects will provide students with both historical and contemporary knowledge of how criminology and the Criminal Justice System works in practice, along with the professional skills that are required to create operational effectiveness. Subjects such as criminal law, criminology, psychology along with policing and offender management are among a range of specialist areas that will prepare students to work within the Criminal Justice System, law enforcement, the administration of justice, mental health and intervention programmes. Criminology it the key focus for all areas of opportunity that students may wish to follow when embarking on their vocational pathway. The course will combine the academic elements of criminology and criminal law with the development and application of the essential vocational skills necessary to forge a career within this industry sector. The practical application will also be complemented by opportunities for work based learning experience.

    Fee Information

    All of the books required for the course are available either from the library or as e-books. However, many students choose to buy some of the core textbooks for the course and/or a laptop. You may also need to print assignments and other documents. Campus printing costs start from 5p per page. Estimated costs are £300 for a laptop and up to £50 each year for books and printing If undertaking dissertation research you may also need to factor in travel costs to your place of research You will be required to have an enhanced DBS check for this course to ensure you meet both our and industry safeguarding requirements.
