    Overview The Master of Arts is organized into four curricular areas that include: the nature and development of rules, rule-breaking behavior and application, theory, and research methodology. It is designed for careers in research, evaluation, and criminal justice administration. Interdepartmental concentrations in Black Studies, Gender and Women's Studies, Latin American and Latino Studies, Survey Research Methodology, and Violence Studies are available to students in this program. Building on the above general curricular areas, the Doctor of Philosophy degree offers additional course work in theory, substantive specialties, and research methods.The Department of Criminology, Law, and Justice of University of Illinois at Chicago also cosponsors, with the College of Pharmacy, a program leading to the Master of Science in Forensic Science.The 4-year Criminology, Law and Justice BA program at University of Illinois, Chicago offers students access to a wide range of criminal justice data. This may include in-class courses, independent research, and a focus on writing in the discipline of law and justice. I want to find another Master Course The legal system has many layers, and these are reflected in the variety of courses in this program. General criminal investigation practices are covered as well as the roll of police, courts and prisons in this area. The corrections system, how communities handle reentry and forensic science are all other areas a student can focus in. Taking writing courses about inquiry and research also prepare students for criminal justice jobs.Pupils completing this program can expect to gain a high level of legal knowledge and experience. Among the 120 criminal law hours required for this degree, there are also electives and general studies. A student can choose these to harmonize with their future career path.

    • 1 : Baccalaureate Field: Applicants must have a baccalaureate degree in criminology, law, and justice or a related field from an accredited college or university.Grade Point Average: At least 3.00/4.00 for the final 60 semester (90 quarter) hours of undergraduate study.Letters of Recommendation Three required, preferably from professors familiar with student’s recent work or in case of the applicants with professional experience, from supervisors.Other Requirements Applicants must submit a sample of their academic writing. Applicants are also encouraged to submit a resume or curriculum vitae (CV).
