Overview Dance is one of the world’s oldest forms of artistic and spiritual expressions, and only at Florida Southern can you find performers mastering the art of plies, pirouettes, and ronds de jambe. These degree options will challenge your body, mind, and imagination, and prepare you for success in the world of dance. As a dance major, you will strengthen your physical skills and explore the history, theory, science, and business of your art. While primary emphasis will be placed on developing impeccable technique through the study of the many different dance forms, courses also cover choreography, anatomy, production, and dance history. Company in ResidenceFlorida Dance Theatre, a touring company comprised of dancers from all over the world, serves as the professional dance company in residence at Florida Southern.Through our close collaboration with Florida Dance Theatre, you will gain insight and experience while performing alongside working professionals on all aspects of dance production.MissionThe mission of Florida Southern College is to prepare students through dynamic engaged learning to make a positive and consequential impact on society.
