Higher National Diploma in Dance Studies: Urban and Contemporary Dance Practice: An exciting and innovative course that specialises in contemporary and urban dance practice. This 2 year course offers students the chance to study with a dynamic and skilled dance faculty. We cover Contemporary dance techniques, innovative theatre practice, hip-hop, krump, commercial, break dance, jazz dance, performance project, audition technique and choreographic practice. You will have the opportunity to share your work in our tri-annual performance platforms and external dance events. The faculty of dance will aid in supporting your growth and developing your skills as a dance artist, choreographer and performer. You will also explore the importance of arts administration and setting up performance events and supportive choreographic sharing’s whilst studying critical response and analytical frameworks for dance analysis. On completion of the 2 year programme many students have progressed onto studying a top-up degrees or a second or third year of a BA (Hons) degree at university, or conservatoire.
