    Career

The field of learning design is evolving and with it a growing variety of professional fields applying sound learning and design theory using technology.  According to the Institute for the Future's (IFTF) "Future Work Skills 2020" report, key drivers reshaping work include new media literacy, design mindset, virtual collaboration, and novel and adaptive thinking (IFTF, 2011).  All of these skills are developed and supported through the Digital Learning Design certificate

Marketable skills developed in this certificate include:

    • Digital communication and virtual collaboration skills
    • Content and assessment design in online and blended environments
    • Visual, information and digital literacy
    • Application of learning and design theory to improving learner engagement
    • Integrating innovative digital learning tools for learner success

DLD students will bring new perspectives, skills, and tools to learning environments.  Professional fields benefiting from learning designers include corporate training, museums, health care industries, schools, sales and fields we can't yet imagine.
