- Native habitats and managed pastures
- Dominated by grasses and grass-likes (prairies, shrublands, woodlands, deserts, tundra)
- Usually grazed by domestic livestock and wildlife
Rangeland Ecology and Management specialization at SDSU:
- Accredited by the Society for Range Management (1 of only 12 accredited programs in the nation).
- Courses in animal science, botany, ecology, geographic information systems (GIS), natural resource management, plant science, range science, soil science, and wildlife and fisheries.
- Learn knowledge and skills for managing habitat, ecological systems, grazing by domestic and native ungulates, grassland restoration/reclamation, and watershed.
- Hands-on training in the field to augment classroom learning.
