Overview Our students are thoroughly prepared for graduate study in economics, but they are also well-equipped for meaningful careers right out of college. At Meredith, students can customize their program in a way that maximizes their success. Students can also combine an economics major with another major, in preparation for positions in two different fields.The Economics program offered by Meredith College provides a solid foundation in economics theory and principles, which allows students to develop the analytical skills necessary to apply, understand and test those theories and principles in practice. With personal attention from faculty, students learn to analyze microeconomic and macroeconomic business issues, critically evaluate policy proposals through cost benefit analysis, and effectively communicate complex ideas, concepts and data in oral and written form.
