    This fascinating degree brings together two fields to explore how todays children and adolescents develop and learn. It allows you to apply your specialist knowledge to real-life practice and is the first step in a rewarding career within the education or psychology fields.

    Education with Psychology BA (Hons) is designed to give you a solid foundation across psychology sociology and the philosophy of education building your understanding of their role in modern society. You also learn about the current debates and issues in education and psychology both in the UK and internationally in areas such as mental health and the growth in digital technologies.

    You begin by exploring core topics like early child psychology; the psychology of adolescence; child and adolescent development; and key concepts in education. In your second and third years you can choose from a range of optional units that allow you to specialise in a specific area if you have a particular career in mind. Units may include special needs and disability; developing teaching practice; families and communities; coaching psychology; and alternative approaches to education.

    This interdisciplinary course aims to deepen and extend your knowledge of concepts and theoretical frameworks central to understanding education and psychology. The course explores educational theory policy and practice both in the UK and internationally.

    The Education with Psychology degree is designed to give you a solid foundation in the psychology history sociology and philosophy of education as well as an understanding of education in modern society and the current debates and issues surrounding the subject. You will have the opportunity to explore important topics like childhood poverty the influence of digital technology child and adolescent mental health and alternative approaches to education.

    During the course you will be supported to gain relevant work experience to enable you to explore a range of careers and to further enhance your employability prospects.

    To apply for a place on an undergraduate course (BA/BSc) you need to have completed your high school education (12 years) and have a pass equivalent to two UK A level passes and have the required English language qualification.
