The Master of Education (Educational Leadership) program reflects recent shifts in the knowledge base and in the restructuring of educational leadership programs worldwide using a 21st Century professional practice competencies approach that integrates theory and practice. The program particularly reflects the Faculty of Education's commitment to preparing leaders for schools and school jurisdictions.
This leadership preparation program leads Alberta Education Leadership Quality Standard Certification.
This 25-month long program is offered in a blended delivery format. This includes online courses in fall, spring, and summer semesters, as well as face-to-face courses in July.
See Application Deadlines for intake details.
Note: The Master of Education program does not lead to teacher certification. Individuals seeking teacher certification in the province of Alberta should refer to the Bachelor of Education program.
More than 50% of the courses in this program follow an online delivery format. Please be advised that due to the blended nature of this program, graduates will not be eligible to apply for a post-graduation work permit after completing this program.
