The Educational Specialist in School Psychology - School Psychologist Certification (Ed.S.) is an advanced degree that enables candidates to develop practitioner expertise and awareness in interventions, consultations, and assessments for school children. Candidates are prepared to work with children and adolescents, parents, guardians, teachers, and other educational professionals in a school setting.
The School Psychology program is divided into two programs, the Masters of Arts in School Psychology, and the Educational Specialist Degree, each having distinct admissions criteria.
- Upon completion of the Ed. S., candidates are eligible for New Jersey Department of Education certification as a school psychologist.
- Graduates may apply to become a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) through the National Association of School Psychologists.
- Attainment of the degree requires completion of all courses, as well as the practicum and externship requirements.
