    About

    Students complete the following specialist modules during the degree programme: Mathematics I and II (basics of mathematics) Basics of Electrical Engineering (electrical engineering foundations of networks, fields, semiconductors, etc. as well as their historical examination) Basics of Science Computer Engineering I and II (computer engineering basics as well as an introduction to and specialisation in programming languages) Electrical Engineering Laboratory Practicals (application of electrical engineering and IT foundations on the basis of individual laboratory experiments) Orientation module (basics of power engineering, automation technology and microelectronics) Specialisation module (in-depth study of basics from the orientation module within an area) Furthermore, students complete the following teaching methodology modules: Electrical Engineering Projects (application of electrical engineering and IT basics on the basis of projects with a reference to teaching) Basics of Teaching Methodology I (foundations of scientific study, teaching methodological concepts) Basics of Teaching Methodology II (lesson planning, implementation and evaluation, teaching plans)

    In addition to the skills required in the teaching profession (e.g. an interest in imparting knowledge, enjoyment of teaching, the ability to work under pressure, patience and empathy), in the area of Electrical Engineering students should also possess strong powers of imagination and abstraction, an interest in mathematical and technical issues and the ability to think logically.

    Some subjects in the Bachelor Teacher Training Course for Technical Education are restricted: English Studies (school subject: English), Food Science, German Studies (school subject: German), Politics, Spanish Studies, Sports.

    Some subjects in the Bachelor Teacher Training Course for Technical Education are admission-free: Catholic Religious Education, Chemistry, Colour Technology and Interior Decoration, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Metals Technology, Physics, Plant Operations and Manufacturing of Wood Products, Protestant Religious Education and Site Engineering.

    Application dates for a subject combination with at least one restricted subject:

    First-year students
    (Application for the first semester is only possible for the winter semester)
    • Applicants from Germany and other EU countries: June 1st July 15th of the year
    • Applicants from outside the European Union: April 15th May 31st of the year (application via uni-assist)
    Students resuming their studies and transfer students (application in a higher semester)
    • Everyone: June 1st July 15th of the year for the winter semester
    • Everyone: December 1st - January 15th of the year for the summer semester

    How to Apply

    You can use our online application portal to enrol any time between 1 June and 30 September. To be able to do this, you will need a qualification for admission to higher education. At the end of the online application, you will automatically be forwarded to a cover letter (the so-called application for enrollment). Sign this application for enrollment (handwritten or digital) and put it together with the required documents into one PDF document, which you can then upload using the upload link provided. The required documents include your qualification for admission to higher education (e.g. Abitur) and any other supporting documents such as practical training certificates or evidence of language proficiency. We also need proof of your health insurance and evidence that you have paid the semester fee. At the end of the online application, all required documents are listed and must be uploaded as a scan of the original documents by September 30th, 11:59 p.m. Please do not forget to upload your photo for the LeibnizCard . You can find information on this in the application for enrollment at the end of the online application. In September, you will receive your enrolment documents, an invitation to the welcome event for new students and information about any preparatory courses that may be offered. Please note that some degree programmes offer preparatory courses well before term starts.
