About

Overview This Electronic Media Management concentration from the Central Michigan University is designed for students who want to work in a managerial capacity within mass media, whether it be at a large corporation or a small media outlet. Students also will learn how to manage their own careers, with an emphasis placed on thriving in a freelance media economy. Coursework in this concentration teaches students mass media theory and research methods, but also focuses on sales, promotion and management techniques that are necessary for survival in a highly competitive mass media industry.Research Opportunities and AssistantshipsCMU's program offers several graduate assistantship opportunities for incoming graduate students. Currently 16 students receive full funding as teaching graduate assistants in the Broadcasting and Cinematic Arts program. Graduate assistants receive opportunities to teach laboratory sections, assist professors with classroom teaching and work directly with students via co-curricular organizations.
