Elementary Education: English as a Second Language Emphasis

    About

If you're eager to teach in multilingual K-8 classrooms, the Elementary Education major with an ESL endorsement is a good fit for you. Elementary educators with ESL expertise have the unique teaching skills necessary to assist diverse groups of students on their educational paths. This two-year program prepares students to improve the education and lives of all children, including English language learners. In addition to a Bachelor of Arts in Education, students in the program also earn an Elementary Certificate K-8 with an ESL endorsement. Throughout the program, undergraduates split time between the University of Arizona and a local K-8 school, where they gain firsthand experience through student teaching. At the elementary school, students work with diverse populations of children and educators who are invested in supporting new teachers.
