Exposure to world-leading research
The Energy Engineering Discipline in the School of Engineering is committed to energy research, development, and innovation and is closely tied to world-leading research centres. The Environmental Research Institute (ERI) at UCC has over 200 researchers working across six academic institutions collaborating with over 45 industry partners. The ERI coordinates our innovation centre MaREI: MaREI combines the expertise of a wide range of research groups and industry partners, with the shared mission of solving the main scientific, technical, and socio-economic challenges across marine and renewable energy sectors. Our academic staff deliver high-quality research-led teaching across all modules, keeping students up to date with the latest developments in energy research.
Career Opportunities
Students will benefit from up-to-date content, industry-relevant assessments and guest lectures from experts in the energy sector. Additionally, students gain employer exposure through UCC-organised recruitment fairs and employer-led events. Our graduates have gone on to avail of local, national and international opportunities in renewable energy project development, engineering consultancy, resource analysis, project financing, operations and management, surveying, and energy policy development.
Available Scholarships
We support our postgraduate community by offering scholarships and bursaries to prospective and current students. Please see the SEFS Scholarships and Funding PG page for more information.
