    About

McGill offers a unique English program with courses covering three closely linked subjects: English literature, drama, and cultural studies. This program allows you to explore all three subjects broadly while specializing in one area.

The Cultural Studies option teaches students how to analyze forms of cultural expression and symbolic interaction. You will explore the different ways that cultural expression can be shared and transformed.

This program offers a broad knowledge of symbolic form and aesthetic analysis, as well as critical theories related to media. You will hone your analytical and interpretive skills while learning about specific critical approaches to cultural studies. Choose from courses in cultural theory, the history of literature and film, selected seminal works, and more based on your interests.
