This Graduate Certificate in Epidemiology and Biostatistics provides students with advanced training in public health research methods and analysis. Through the completion of advanced coursework students will have the opportunity to strengthen their ability to design, coordinate, execute, analyze, and report on the findings of epidemiologic studies related to outbreaks and endemic infectious and chronic disease, and analyze large public health surveillance data sets, without completing a Master's degree. All students will complete courses that will prepare them to conduct systematic reviews, randomized controlled trials, prospective cohort studies, case-control studies, diagnostic testing studies, and learn how to analyze findings using biostatistical methods and R software.
Coursework may be considered for transfer credit to the Public Health Specialization in the Master of Science degree program with a major in Health Sciences for students who are admitted to that program at a later date.
International Students: Please be advised that due to the part-time nature of this program, graduates will not be eligible to apply for a post-graduation work permit after completing this program. International students interested in this program are advised to contact the International Centre before submitting an application to this program.
