About

Our Extended Medical Degree course MBBS (EMDP) is specifically designed for students who are studying A- levels or Access to Medicine at a non- selective state school or who are participants of Realising Opportunities across England. The course offers a more graduated introduction to medical study than the standard MBBS degree and provides greater academic and pastoral support.To broaden participation in medicine by levelling the educational playing field. To prepare outstanding doctors capable of working as members of teams to provide safe and effective patient-centred care. To educate clinical scientists committed to life- long learning and education. To nurture resilient professionals capable of adapting to changing healthcare needs. To inspire collaborative leaders actively engaged in the improvement of patient and population health.

Requirements

Entry Requirements

Certificate of General Secondary Education will not be considered for direct entry - study our International Foundation Programme instead. Please note: students completing King's International Foundation programme will not be able to progress onto our Dentistry programmes.

English Program Requirements

To study at King's, it is essential that you can communicate effectively in English and are able to do so in an academic environment. You are usually required to provide certification of your competence in English before starting your studies.

Our course is accredited by the General Medical Council (GMC), this Primary Medical Qualification entitles the holder to apply to the GMC for registration to practise medicine in the UK.
