    So, what does image making and fashion styling at university involve? Youll begin by developing your technical and knowledge-based skills, including styling, photography, casting, promotion, publication, layout, curation and moving images. As your degree progresses, youll define your individual aesthetics by undertaking work placements in leading fashion cities around the world. Youll receive individual critique from renowned industry professionals, helping you to inform and strengthen your personal development

    As an emerging practitioner, youll spend the final year of your course critically reflecting on your personal journey. Youll use the skills youve developed to create a body of work that reflects the key themes of relevance, authenticity and social awareness. Not only will this project give you the opportunity to pursue the area of fashion styling that interests you most, it will also help you to build a portfolio that can be used to establish your reputation as a fashion professional.

    Entry Requirements

    Applicants who have successfully passed a diploma from a community college, intermediate diploma or associate degree with an overall mark of C+ or better will be considered for undergraduate entry.

    Equivalent qualifications

    English language requirements are shown on individual course pages. Generally, this is shown as an IELTS grade, however we accept a range of equivalent qualifications. 

    As a general guide:

    For undergraduate courses we require IELTS 6.0 (with a minimum 5.5 in each component) or equivalent

    For postgraduate courses, we require IELTS 6.0 (with a minimum 5.5 in each component) or equivalent

    For the International Foundation Year, we require IELTS 4.5 (with a minimum 4.0 in each component) in UKVI IELTS for UKVI (Academic)

    The approved equivalent qualifications list includes the following: 

    Secure English Language Tests (SELTs) 

    University of Salford English language courses

    Regional-based qualifications

    Majority English Speaking Countries as deemed by UKVI

    Medium of English Institutions

    Applicants who require a Student Route visa to study in the UK may require evidence of a Secure English Language test rather than an examination or qualification due to visa requirements, as deemed by the UK Government Home Office, Visa and Immigration (UKVI).
