Begin your SFU career at our Surrey campus. Designed specifically to connect first-year students with peers as well as professors, the FASS One program offers reserved seating in core major courses, priority course enrollment in FASS courses at Surrey, weekly mentoring sessions, a dedicated academic advisor, and a team of peer mentors to support the transition from high school to a university setting.
FASS One provides a solid foundation for students interested in completing a major in one (or more) of the following subject areas: anthropology, criminology, economics, English, gender, sexuality and women’s studies, history, international studies, philosophy, political science, psychology, and sociology.
In their first year, Arts and Social Sciences students can study full-time at the Surrey campus over two terms, completing at least three SFU Surrey courses each term, including at least two courses offered by the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. Course planning sessions are provided to assist students with their first course enrollment at SFU.
