    As a Football Development and Coaching graduate, you'll be equipped with the strategic skills to plan, design, implement and evaluate a football development project. This includes the knowledge to undertake safe, effective and inclusive football coaching sessions for a variety of levels and abilities.

    You'll develop your analytical skills by conducting research and investigating current data to support the justification for a funded community football project. And you will obtain an in-depth understanding of scientific methods to conduct and analyse scientific tests to enhance football performance.

    What you will learn

    You'll study the full spectrum of football coaching theories and concepts. This includes scientific principles, theories and practices that influence the performance of football.

    Throughout the course, you'll cover local and national policy, laws and regulations in addition to learning about ethnic diversity, inclusion and cultural considerations within the sector. You will also learn about Football Governing Bodies and other professional organisations.

    You'll graduate with professional skills relevant to football development and coaching. These include strong communication and interpersonal skills and proficient IT capabilities to support football development and coaching practice.

    This course is currently only open to international students who have leave to remain in the UK or have dual British nationality.

    English Program Requirements

    IELTS both online and paper-based exams accepted. Candidates can also re-sit a single component within 60 days of taking their test through IELTS OneSkill. MDX will accept certificates with a OneSKill retake component
    6.0 (with 5.5 in each component)
    6.0 (with 6 in Reading & Writing, min 5.5 in other components)
    6.5 (with 6.0 in each component); *MA Scriptwriting and MA Novel Writing (DE)– must have minimum
    6.5 overall with 6.5 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and a minimum
    7.0 in Written component; ** Sport Rehabilitation and Soft Tissue Therapy MSc and Sport
    Rehabilitation and Return to Play MSc – must have a minimum of 6.5 overall with 6.5 in each component
    7.0 * All Nursing/Midwifery BSc courses must have 7.0 overall with 7.0 in written component; ** All BSc Healthcare Science BSc courses must have 7.0 overall with 6.5 in written component

    You'll complete 100 hours of industry experience throughout your degree once you have completed your DBS and FA Introduction to Coaching qualification. You'll receive help and support in identifying a suitable placement as well as with applications if required. Placement opportunities exist within Watford FC CSE Trust as well as at other Football Clubs, University Sports Clubs, local football development projects, charities, fitness centres and schools.
