    Study a finance and investment banking degree in London. This degree is designed to prepare you for a successful career in investment banking or a related field.

    This degree in finance and investment banking is designed to develop your financial knowledge and help you get ahead in today's investing world. Modules include corporate finance, investment management, trading, FinTech, quantitative analysis and accounting, so you'll gain the practical skills and understanding you need to deal with finance and investment related issues.

    Students on this programme will benefit from access to our state-of-the-art Bloomberg Trading Floor, where you can gain hands-on experience with the same Bloomberg terminals used by financial professionals worldwide. This facility provides real-time access to market data, analytics, and news from over 120,000 sources, enhancing your learning with practical skills that are highly valued in the industry.

    Choose to take the degree's optional placement year (the 'sandwich' mode) and you'll have a chance to put your skills into practice in a workplace!

    Over your time at Greenwich as a Business School student, expect insights from guest speakers and a range of events where you can network. You'll also, courtesy of the university's network of industry contacts, get a chance to apply for our career mentoring scheme - your chance to be mentored by someone working in industry who will be able to share their insight and advice with you.

    The programme is affiliated with Chartered Financial Analyst Institute (CFA) under the CFA Institute University Affiliation Program, and it equips you with the theoretical and practical toolset to take Level 1 of the CFA qualification after you graduate. The programme is also recognised for the CFA Certificate in Sustainable Investing.

    The programme is also accredited with ACCA, CIMA and AIA professional body which offer exemptions including up to 5 ACCA papers, and up to CIMA Operational Level. Full details of the accreditation gained on completion of this programme can be viewed on accrediting partners' websites.

    Academic entry requirements

    Applicants who have completed the national schooling system typically require foundation, please refer to UGIC.

    For some courses, you will need to have studied relevant subjects at school/college to be eligible. Our admissions team will determine this once you apply.

    Careers and placements

    Will I have a work placement?

    This degree offers the chance to undertake a placement year - this work placement is optional, and you are responsible for arranging your placement with support from the university. Previous Greenwich Business School students have secured their placement year with organisations such as the NHS, Nomura, RSK, Charlton Athletic, Disney, Enterprise Rent-A-Car and more.

    How long is my placement?

    Sandwich placements are 9-12 months of full-time paid work. A sandwich year is taken between the second and third years of study.

    What are the financial arrangements?

    Sandwich placements are usually paid at competitive rates for entry level roles in your chosen industry. The Employability Service will only promote paid opportunities to you.

    What sort of careers do graduates pursue?

    Graduates can pursue employment in areas such as investment banking, asset management, wholesale and retail banking, insurance and consultancy.

    Are internships available?

    The University’s Employability Team may advertise internship opportunities which are made available to the University and which the team feel are appropriate for University of Greenwich students. Internships are usually shorter opportunities ranging from 5 working days to 6 months and may be part-time or full-time. Depending on the nature and duration of the internship it may be something that can be done alongside study or it may be something that can only be done over the summer. If your internship is eligible, you can receive a Certificate of Industrial Studies.
