Focused Negotiated Study in Medical Ultrasound Practice
About
How you learn
Where possible your teaching is shared with other clinical modules. Where appropriate the Pharmaceutical Analytical Consultancy Services lab and Northern Region Ultrasound Simulation Centre are fully integrated into delivering your module. You are encouraged to take ownership of your own and your peers' learning. Your direct contact time is supplemented with the University's virtual learning environment.
To become an autonomous ultrasound practitioner you undertake a clinical placement. Your placement develops your comprehensive and critical understanding to practice in your chosen area of ultrasound. You also have a clinical mentor who guides you throughout your training and provides an invaluable source of support.
The award is assessed in two parts:
- literature review (2,500 words, 100% weighting) submitted in week 37
- final triggered assessment in week 42.
