    Overview Coursework in Foundation in Studio Art from University of North Carolina Greensboro and access to regional arts professionals during this foundational time broaden the scope of what it means to be an artist and provides students on a Bachelor of Art degree path an immersive art education.Studio Foundations also prepares students wishing to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and concentrate within a discipline.  Entry into the BFA requires a successful portfolio review of work made during the first year and completion of all foundation classes.  Studio concentrations include:Art EducationNew Media and DesignPaintingPhotographyPrintmaking and DrawingSculpture and Ceramics I want to find another Preparation Course

    • 1 : A portfolio is not necessary when you apply as a first year BA student.  However, after completion of all foundation classes and before earning a total of 28 credit hours in ART or ARE classes, students may apply for entry into the BFA program, which requires a portfolio of 16 artworks.  Traditional students are encouraged to apply in their third semester at UNCG.  Once the 28 credit hour threshold is passed, the student will forfeit their ability to apply for the BFA program. Students who fail the portfolio review may reapply in the following semester. Students may reapply once.
