    Our foundation year course can open up a range of potential creative possibilities. If you have the ambition and the ability to study at the School of Digital Arts (SODA), but don’t yet have the required qualifications to study the honours degree of your choice, this programme can bridge the gap.

    Whatever your creative ambitions, the course is flexible enough to offer a vital launching pad. So, whether you’re looking to a future in developing games, designing websites, making films, producing special effects or working with music (to list just a few), this course can help you take the first steps towards making your mark in the creative and digital industries.

    After successful completion of this foundation year, you can progress on to one of the relevant BA (Hons) or BS

    Course information

    This course is designed to equip you with the personal and academic skills required of a degree course. As well as working on your study skills and – if necessary – your language skills, you’ll get the chance to explore your interests and look into relevant professional practices, including the innovative boundary-crossing collaboration that’s so vital in the creative industries. So, after successful completion of the foundation year, you’ll be ready to make a start on your chosen degree.

    A Levels – e.g. DDD-CDD

    Pearson BTEC National Extended Diploma – MMP

    Access to HE Diploma - Pass with a minimum 74 UCAS Tariff points

    UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma - grade of Pass overall

    OCR Cambridge Technical Extended Diploma - grade MMP

    T Levels - We welcome applications from students undertaking T Level qualifications. Eligible applicants will be asked to achieve a minimum overall grade of Pass as a condition of offer.

    IB Diploma - Pass overall with a minimum overall score of 24 or minimum 74 UCAS Tariff points from three Higher Level subjects

    Other Level 3 qualifications equivalent to GCE A level are also considered.

    A maximum of three A level-equivalent qualifications will be accepted towards meeting the UCAS tariff requirement.

    AS levels, or qualifications equivalent to AS level, are not accepted. The Extended Project qualification (EPQ) may be accepted towards entry, in conjunction with two A-level equivalent qualifications.

    International Baccalaureate points

    IB Diploma with minimum 24 points overall or 74 UCAS Tariff points from Higher Level. If you plan to meet the Level 2 course requirements through your IB Diploma you will need to achieve Higher Level 4 or Standard Level 5 in English
