Besides its role as the capital of the Federal Republic of Germany, Berlin is also a place for political decisions within the European Union and a major cultural metropolis. During a lecture and seminars, representatives of the European Academy Berlin will give you insights into how Berlin is shaping Europe and how Europe influences Berlin. In addition, Berlin, the seat of the Federal Government, is a place of important political decisions. This versatile character of the city is to be illustrated in lectures and guided tours of the historical and contemporary development of Berlin. Additionally, we will explore the relationship of Germans and their pop music. Finally, there will be the opportunity to represent the perspectives of the city that you have experienced and artistically render your impressions in a drawing workshop. You will take a mandatory placement test on the first day. In the mornings: four credit hours of German class a day (one credit hour = 45 minutes): a total of 80 credit hours In the afternoons: academic lessons two or three times per week: a total of 20 credit hours seminars, workshops, and trips related to the history, urban development, and culture of Berlin Components of the language lessons are: grammar conversation writing listening and reading comprehension pronunciation literature
