GeT MA - German-Turkish Master's Programme in Social Sciences

    About

GeT MA - the German-Turkish Master's Programme - is an interdisciplinary and integrated Master's programme in social sciences. GeT MA students broaden their empirical knowledge of political processes. Academic courses are taught by highly qualified professors from different academic disciplines on various topics such as modernisation and democratisation, Europeanisation, and migration. Students deepen their empirical knowledge of political processes using Germany, Turkey, and other countries and regions of Europe as examples. Our aim is to do research together rather than about each other. The courses of the study programme offer a specialised perspective on current academic and political debates in these fields by using the examples of Turkey and Germany. Looking at the interplay of politics and society in German-Turkish relations as well as the European dimension of domestic and foreign politics in both countries will help students to cultivate the analytical and methodological tools used in comparative government, integration theories, and social change. Teaching and research have a clear interdisciplinary focus. The courses in the programme cover various sub-disciplines in political science and sociology and also address cultural and economic questions. This approach manifests itself through the participation of professors from different academic disciplines and backgrounds.
