Graduate Certificate in Building and Construction Information Management

The Graduate Certificate in Building and Construction Information Management (GC-BCIM) is a 1-year part-time course that will develop your skills and knowledge of modern technologies and practices in building construction information management.

Developed in response to ongoing industry changes, this course is designed alongside UC’s existing strengths in building construction management education and in consultation with the building industry. Explore current and emerging methods for construction project management, procurement, contract administration and introduces students to Building Information Modelling (BIM) technologies.

Completed tertiary undergraduate qualification in a relevant discipline (architecture, built environment, building and construction engineering and management, project management and civil engineering disciplines), as approved by the University.

The University of Canberra is a strong supporter of lifelong education and recognises that not everyone comes into university through traditional pathways. For example, we know that often people with significant industry experience are excellent students who gain a lot from completing our courses.

If you do not hold a Bachelor degree in a relevant discipline, we may consider your previous related work experience through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). RPL enables admissions based on learning derived from work experience or a combination of qualification and work experience. The amount of work experience required will depend on your previous qualifications, ranging from 4 years (for example, if you have a TAFE advanced diploma) to 10 years if your highest qualification is a Year 12 certificate.

Additional admission requirements

The applicants for the flexible and fully online modes of the program are required to have a functional computer to apply BIM software packages and tools.

An IELTS Academic score of 6.5 overall, with no band score below 6.0 (or equivalent).
