This course has been designed to enhance your analytical and problem-solving abilities and develop your understanding of basic principles of finance, econometrics, research and the analysis of financial markets.
You will have access to comprehensive financial databases and use sophisticated software in the RMIT Trading Facility to perform option simulations and treasury dealing.
The knowledge and skills you will acquire throughout this degree and how they can be applied in your career are described in the learning outcomes.
The Graduate Certificate comprises four core subjects in finance.
Money Markets and Fixed Income Securities is a compulsory work-integrated learning subject that requires you to collect, analyse and use real world bond data from a specific country to construct and assess the risk of bond portfolios.
It is recommended that you follow the sequence of subjects presented in the enrolment structure.
You must have successfully completed an Australian Bachelor degree(or equivalent overseas qualification) or higher level qualification in any discipline.
You may also be considered if you have a minimum of 5 years full-time equivalent work experience. Applicants will be required to submit a curriculum vitae (CV).
There are no prerequisite subjects required for entry into this qualification.
A selection task is not required for entry into this qualification.
Graduates are encouraged to progress to the Master of Finance.
Master degree graduates may work in the financial sector or in the treasury/finance functions of large or small corporations.

Our admissions team will assess your application and if you are successful, will send you a letter of offer. The time frame for this varies based on the course you apply for and the selection process, so it might not happen the very next day.
What’s next? Once you accept the offer and pay your deposit, we will send you a confirmation of enrolment. You can use this document as part of your visa application.
