    Overview

    This course has been designed to enhance your analytical and problem-solving abilities and develop your understanding of basic principles of finance, econometrics, research and the analysis of financial markets.

    You will have access to comprehensive financial databases and use sophisticated software in the RMIT Trading Facility to perform option simulations and treasury dealing.

    The knowledge and skills you will acquire throughout this degree and how they can be applied in your career are described in the learning outcomes.

    Electives and course plan

    The Graduate Certificate comprises four core subjects in finance.

    Work integrated learning

    Money Markets and Fixed Income Securities is a compulsory work-integrated learning subject that requires you to collect, analyse and use real world bond data from a specific country to construct and assess the risk of bond portfolios.

    It is recommended that you follow the sequence of subjects presented in the enrolment structure.

    Entry Requirements

    You must have successfully completed an Australian Bachelor degree(or equivalent overseas qualification) or higher level qualification in any discipline.

    You may also be considered if you have a minimum of 5 years full-time equivalent work experience. Applicants will be required to submit a curriculum vitae (CV).

    Prerequisites

    There are no prerequisite subjects required for entry into this qualification.

    Selection tasks

    A selection task is not required for entry into this qualification.

    Career

    Graduates are encouraged to progress to the Master of Finance.

    Master degree graduates may work in the financial sector or in the treasury/finance functions of large or small corporations.
