    Overview

    This graduate certificate in higher education is a part-time course designed to enhance the teaching skills of staff in higher education institutions. It is delivered online or in a mixed attendance mode.

    The Graduate Certificate in University Teaching combines research-based, theoretical seminars with practical exercises involving peer review and negotiated projects. It is offered part-time to complement participants’ current teaching practice. This course is suitable for staff currently teaching in higher education institutions, or staff in vocational and training institutions who plan to teach in higher education.

    Entry Requirements

    Minimum eligibility

    You’re considered an international student based on your citizenship – even if you're studying in Australia.

    Masters

    You must have completed an undergraduate degree (or equivalent) from a recognised institution. Most Masters degrees also require a minimum WAM (Weighted Average Mark)based on your previous studies for entry.     Depending on your previous studies and experience you could also be eligible for credit towards your studies at the University.

    Doctorates

    If you go on to a doctorate, you need to have completed an Honours and Masters degree in the relevant discipline. Additional qualifications and work experience is also taken into consideration.

    English Program Requirements

    IELTS: Score: 7.0, with written 7.0 and no band less than 6.0.

    TOEFL: Score: 94+, with writing 27; speaking 18; reading 13; listening 13.

    PEARSON: Score: 72+, with written communicative skill of 75 and no other communicative skill below 60.

    CAMBRIDGE: Score: 185+, with no less than 185 in writing and no less than 169 in each other skill.
