Overview

UniSQ's Graduate Certificate of Science (Astrophysics) gives you the opportunity to acquire new skills in the field of astrophysics, allowing you to learn more about the universe and broaden career prospects in science, technology or education.
You'll be introduced to observational astrophysics and develop your knowledge and skills relating to physical measurements, such as astrometry, photometry, spectroscopy, telescopes, optics, detectors and data analysis.
Explore the fundamentals of physics, including force, motion, energy, and electromagnetism, as well as concepts of astronomy and various astronomical phenomenon.

Entry requirements

3-year Bachelor degree from an Australian university or equivalent.

equivalent professional work experience, as determined through the Credit and Exemption procedure.

English language requirements

You are required to meet the applicable English language requirements and this degree requires a minimum of IELTS 6.5 with a minimum 6.0 in each subscore. UniSQ also accepts other English language proficiency tests.

If you don't meet the English language requirements, you can apply to study with our English language partner, the Union Institute of Language (UIL).

English Program Requirements

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) allows students to gain credit (advanced standing) towards their course in recognition of skills and knowledge gained through work experience, life experience and/or formal training. Applicants are assessed on a case-by-case basis.
