    Construction is a fast-paced and evolving industry. The Graduate Diploma in Construction Practice equips students with the highly sought-after skills needed to apply innovative and adaptable solutions within complex construction environments.

    The Graduate Diploma in Construction Practice focuses on the organisation and management of project resources (people, process, products, energy, finance, space) to deliver building projects on time, within cost, and of the defined scope and quality.

    Our programs are designed to provide graduates with access to a wide range of career pathways.

    Upon completion of the graduate diploma, you may choose to complete an additional four subjects to gain a master’s qualification.

    This program is well suited to professionals who have been working in the industry and require a formal qualification.

    Recognised 4 year Bachelor degree equivalent to an Australian Bachelor degree

    4 year Bachelor degree - 4 point grading scale

    Successful completion of a recognised Bachelor degree (or equivalent qualification) in any field
    (Note - This program is not available to graduates of Bond's Bachelor of Construction Management and Quantity Surveying, students may consider the Graduate Diploma in Building Information Modelling and Integrated Project Delivery as an alternative.)

    English Program Requirements

    English language proficiency requirements

    Bond's programs are taught and assessed in English, so depending on your educational background and citizenship, you may be required to provide evidence that your English language ability meets our requirements. This may include submitting results from an approved English Language Test taken in the past two years - you can see the required results for the most common approved tests below. There are other ways to demonstrate English language proficiency and gain entry into this program, including demonstrating prior study in English, or other qualifications. If your qualification does not meet the English language requirements then you will need to provide an English proficiency test for admission.

    This degree will provide you with access to a wide range of career pathways in the construction industry with the skill sets obtained in this degree also applicable to related sectors such as civil engineering and mining. Roles within the construction industry can be applied to practitioners such as estimators or contract managers, or as professionals such as quantity surveyors or project managers. 

    Outcomes

    Construction manager

    Manage and plan construction projects and oversee their progress in a timely and cost-effective manner consistent with an overarching strategy. Responsibilities include coordination of workers and subcontractors, commissioning, and installation of infrastructure, managing budgets, and tracking tools, materials, equipment, and inventory.  

    Estimator

    You will take an active role in the tendering of contracts through the analysis of proposals, plans, specifications, and other data in preparing time, cost, and labour first principles estimates for construction projects. You will be required to maximize project margin and add value to the construction process through proactive involvement in procurement, cost management and reporting.
