    HNC Agricultural Technology

    About

The rapidly evolving agricultural technology industry requires technicians who can maintain complex sensor systems and ensure that these are accurate and reliable.

Precise sensor systems, which generate data flows through a farm, can improve the efficiency of the agricultural industry and the farming process. New technical developments and expert technicians can help farms to produce more with less, by allocating resources precisely where they are needed for crop and animal. Such progress can improve profitability and, at the same time, reduce the industry's carbon footprint and feed a growing world population.

This course will teach you about all aspects of agricultural technology and how it is applied. You'll also learn workplace skills, such as IT, problem solving, data handling and communication.

You'll learn about all aspects of agricultural technology and how it is applied, alongside workplace skills like IT, data handling and communication.

The Higher National Certificate in Agricultural Technology will teach you to maintain complex systems through an in-depth knowledge of the sensors. You'll learn how the data are generated and moved, and how it can prompt, for example, a milking or field robot to carry out a task.

The course is designed to train graduates in diagnosing and maintaining the precision farming systems, robotics and mechatronics systems that are becoming an increasing part of modern agricultural mechanisation.
