Teaching
You will learn through a mixture of lectures, seminars, tutorials and site visits. You will also be involved in directed learning, presentations, assignments, tutorial preparation and problemsolving exercises.
Assessment
The Surveying HNC will be assessed by a mixture of coursework and exams. The course involves two years of part-time study, where you will attend the University for one full day a week.

Career
Graduates with a Surveying HNC can choose to progress their studies onto either a BSc in either Quantity Surveying & Commercial Management or Construction Project Management at USW.
A Graduate with HNC Surveying could also find employment as a trainee in the areas of quantity surveying, site surveying, building surveying or project management in a number of sectors in the built environment. Starting salaries for trainee positions range from £16-20,000

As a USW Quantity Surveying student, you will have access to advice from the Careers and Employability Service throughout your studies and after you graduate.
This includes: one-to-one appointments from faculty based Career Advisers, in person, over the phone or even on Skype and through email via the "Ask a Question" service. We also have extensive online resources for help with considering your career options and presenting yourself well to employers. Resources include psychometric tests, career assessments, a CV builder, interview simulator and application help. Our employer database has over 2,000 registered employers targeting USW students, you can receive weekly email alerts for jobs.
