    Housing Management and Policy

    About

The Housing Management and Policy major at UGA focuses on the socio-economic aspects of housing with special emphasis given to housing needs and the manner in which the family, the private sector, and government policy respond to those needs.  The program features an in-depth study of housing finance and the range of housing alternatives with course work including study of sales (leasing), mortgages, accounting, community development, human resources, technology services, legal issues, training, and management.

An emphasis in Residential Property Management is available which prepares students to work with diverse groups in the apartment industry for resale or renting purposes.

Career opportunities are available with local, state, and federal housing agencies, helping tenants with housing use and maintenance practices. Graduates enter real estate firms, mortgage companies, extension services, property management firms, utility companies, planning commissions, and manufacturing companies of housing and related components.  The Housing program may also be used as preparation for graduate study or pre-professional degree.

    How to Apply

UGA supports two different application platforms for First-Year applications. Students should only submit one of these applications. We do not prefer any particular application platform, so please select the option that works best for you and your school counselor. While we are still members of the Coalition for College, we will not be accepting applications on that platform for students applying for Fall 2023.
