    Hypertension - PGCert

    About

    Our online Hypertension Postgraduate Certificate allows you to study for just six months and is a part-time, distance-learning course. The course is worth 60 credits and comprises three modules of 20 credits, each running over a period of six weeks.

    Module one: Epidemiology, Pathophysiology, Diagnosis, and Investigation of Hypertension
    This module provides an in-depth exploration of the epidemiology, pathophysiology, diagnosis, and investigation of hypertension.

    Module two: Management of Hypertension - Lifestyle Modifications and Pharmacological Treatment
    This module focuses on the management of hypertension, emphasising lifestyle modifications and pharmacological treatment strategies.

    Module three: Hypertension in Special Circumstances
    This module explores the complexities of hypertension in special circumstances, including pregnancy, diabetes, elderly patients, individuals from ethnic minority backgrounds, malignant hypertension, difficult-to-treat or resistant hypertension, and secondary hypertension.

    Academic Qualifications

    • Students who have completed a 4 year Bachelor degree (60% overall or a GPA of 2.5 or above on the scale of 4, 4 being the highest) can be considered for entry onto a relevant postgraduate programme of study.
    • Applicants with other relevant qualifications or work experience may be considered on a case by case basis.

    English Program Requirements

    English language requirements

    • IELTS with an overall score of 6.0 or above.
    • GMC / NMC (Nursing Midwifery Council) / GPhC / HCPC registered – with a licence to practise.
    • Proof of study at a UK, USA, Australian, New Zealand or Canadian University or membership to a medical body from one of these countries.
