About

The research-oriented study programme Master of Science Information and Communication Engineering is focused on the theoretical basics, models and applications of information transmission and processing. This includes communication techniques and algorithms, methods for their microelectronic integration in hardware/software solutions with applications in mobile and multimedia communication, coding, data compression, security, image processing, medical systems etc. The interdisciplinary study programme is tailored to German as well as foreign students intending to pursue a degree with an international focus and courses held in English.

Requirements

Entry Requirements

Applying with international qualifications (language requirements, application deadlines): International Admission. Requirements for admission to the Masters degree programme are comprised of a Bachelor of Science degree in the same programme or an equivalent degree. An Online Test must be taken and passed as proof of sufficient knowledge of the field. The Online Test is mandatory for all applicants. Specific degree entrance requirements may be found here and in the competences description.

English Program Requirements

You must pass the “Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang” (DSH-2) as evidence that your spoken and written command of the German language is adequate for Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes for which the language of instruction is German.

Participating in the DSH at the Studienkolleg is subject to charge.

Career

Because the core of the Master of Science degree in Information Systems Technology is the understanding, developing and researching of the complex interconnections between hardware and software, as those skills required by well-trained interdisciplinary engineers, graduates of the Masters degree programme will have many and varied career choices. They can find positions in the automotive and mechanical engineering fields, in consumer entertainment electronics, and in the household electronics industry. Other fields include automation technology, communications, medical, and aerospace technology.
