    Bachelor of Business Administration in Information Security and Assurance 

    The Kennesaw State University Information Security and Assurance (BBA-ISA) degree will provide you the skills to become technologically proficient, business-savvy, and capable of applying policy, education, and training others.  You will gain the experience of developing technology solutions to protect information assets from all types of threats and manage the risk associated with modern information usage.

    Safeguarding digital information is critical in our technological society, and the KSU information security degree program prepares you for a variety of career options. With the Information Security degree, you will gain the necessary skills to evaluate computer and network systems' security needs, provide recommended solutions, and implement security systems solutions. This degree is a good choice for you if you want to work with computers and related technology.

    Information security and assurance degree analyze information operations that protect and defend information and information systems by ensuring availability, integrity, authentication, confidentiality, and non-repudiation. This program spans both areas in its approach to the protection of information in the organization.

    The Department of Homeland Security and the National Security Agency have jointly designated Kennesaw State University as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education with specialized focus areas in Security Policy Development & Compliance and Systems Security Administration

    With an Information Security and Assurance degree from KSU, you'll have the skills to protect data in transmission, storage or processing, through policy and technology. The purpose of the program is to create technologically proficient, business-savvy information security professionals capable of protecting information assets from all aspects of threats, and to manage the risks associated with modern information usage.

    GPA Requirement 

    Graduation from high school with GPA of 2.5 with qualifying SAT/ACT test scores

    (If educated outside of the United States, the required official evaluation
    must indicate GPA)

    First-Year Student Announcement:

    First-year students applying to Kennesaw State University for the Summer, and Fall 2023 semesters may be admitted without an ACT or SAT score if they have a GPA of 3.2 or higher.

    * Students who have a GPA of less than 3.2 should submit official ACT or SAT scores along with their high school transcript to be considered for admission. 

    *For students who were educated outside the United States, the GPA must be reflected on the official evaluation (see requirements below). Kennesaw State will review the official evaluation.

    **Being exempt from SAT/ACT does not guarantee that students are also exempt from the English proficiency requirement if they are citizens of non-English speaking countries (see the Validation of English Proficiency section below).

    Note: Test scores are still required for some scholarships (e.g. Zell Miller) and programs (e.g. Architecture).

    Admission to Coles B.B.A. programs is separate from admission to Kennesaw State University. Students must meet the program requirements outlined below. To be able to take upper-division courses in Accounting and graduate with an Information Security & Assurance B.B.A., students must successfully:

    • Complete BUSA 2150 a
    • Meet the Coles College Sophomore GPA Requirement
    • Be admitted to the Coles Undergraduate Professional Program. Admission to the Coles Undergraduate Professional Program is separate from admission to Kennesaw State University.  In addition, all business majors must earn a grade of "C" or better in all business courses counted toward their degree.
