    About

Why choose Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship MSc at Middlesex?

Entrepreneurs and small businesses start-ups are often thought of as the backbone of economies worldwide, while qualities such as innovation and creativity are becoming increasingly sought after by organisations that need employees who can respond to change in dynamic business environments.

In today's world, where entrepreneurship is thriving, this course offers a step-by-step journey through the entire process of starting a business – from coming up with an idea to making it a reality.

With entrepreneurship insights from specialist management disciplines, you will develop practice-based skills and knowledge in strategy and marketing, as well as an understanding of innovation from a behavioural perspective.

Our aim is to enhance your decision-making abilities, help you identify market opportunities, foster teamwork, cultivate critical thinking in leadership, stimulate creativity, and develop your entrepreneurial leadership skills.

You will have the opportunity to apply these skills in practical settings, such as mentoring undergraduate students with entrepreneurial aspirations and working on real-world cases to find innovative solutions for small businesses.

    What you will gain

By pursuing this degree, you will gain many valuable experiences and skills that will set you up for success in the business world.

You will have the opportunity to develop your own business ideas, receiving guidance and support from a dedicated business mentor throughout the process. You will also actively engage in workshops where you will bring your innovations to life by creating prototypes.

This course pays particular attention to innovations and ideas which address contemporary issues or business practices. Assignments in the course are designed to reflect real-life scenarios, meaning you will collaborate with local charities and businesses.

You will acquire expertise in critical areas such as business strategy, decision-making, financing, valuation, and budgeting. These skills will greatly enhance your ability to identify business opportunities and effectively navigate obstacles. Additionally, you will acquire valuable digital skills, including proficiency in collaborative online software like MIRO and basic video editing using tools such as Moovly. You will also learn how to use AI to assist decision-making in a business environment.

As a student, you will also have the opportunity to expand your professional network by interacting with practitioners who bring their own real-life experiences to the table. Events like Global Entrepreneurship Week provide a platform for networking and knowledge sharing.

Working closely with the Enterprise Development Hub, you will gain practical experience by running workshops, mentoring undergraduates, and tackling real-world cases for small enterprises. This hands-on involvement will provide you with valuable insights and practical skills that employers seek.

Throughout this course, you will engage in student-directed study and teamwork, empowering you to enhance your decision-making and planning abilities. These are crucial qualities sought after by organisations in today's dynamic business environment, where innovation and creativity are highly valued.
