Integrated Studio Arts allows students to craft individualized plans of study to build a major in the fine arts intended to provide a solid foundation in arts, history, and concepts with a student-selected focus in 2D media, craft and material studies, art, technology & culture, or interdisciplinary studio arts.
The integrated studio arts major prepares students for careers with professional practice components that provide opportunities for students to exhibit their own work and to curate, organize, and install exhibitions in Purdue's Patti and Rusty Rueff Galleries. Students graduate with a BFA.
Important Note About Portfolio Requirement: Students who apply to Integrated Studio Arts will be required to provide a digital portfolio and must provide the portfolio to complete their application by the appropriate application deadline. Students who are interested in studio arts but do not have a portfolio may apply to the Studio Arts and Technology BA program.
Important PORTFOLIO information: Purdue's Common Application does not provide an upload link for the portfolio of creative work which is required for applicants to the BFA in Integrated Studio Arts. Rather, applicants should apply through the Common App, then - once they have established their Purdue application portal - an upload link for their portfolio will be shared.
All liberal arts majors prepare students with the skills identified as contributing to managerial success: communicating and listening well, possessing insights into others, creative/critical thinking, problem solving, and the ability to make connections across complex ideas.
