    About

    Our BA (Hons) Interior Architecture and Venue Design with Foundation year course offers you the chance to strengthen your skills, knowledge and confidence before you advance to stage one of your honours degree.

    Interested in a career where you can translate your design ideas into reality? This degree equips you with the skills and knowledge you need to design exciting venues ranging from bars, restaurants and entertainment complexes to hotels, shops and museums.

    • Gain valuable workplace experience - our students have been as far afield as Los Angeles and Singapore on practice placements

    You can also take the BA (Hons) Interior Architecture and Venue Design without a foundation year.

    Requirements

    Entry Requirements

    • Shahadat Al-Thanawaya Al-Aama
    • Students with an overall score of 60% would usually be eligible for the International Foundation Year
    • UKVI IELTS 4.5 with a minimum of 4.0 in all components (CEFR B1) is also required
    • If you are studying and completing any internationally recognised qualification such as A-levels; International Baccalaureate (IB) or the American Curricula from the International Schools within Jordan, then you can begin from the first year of a Bachelors degree. Please see individual course pages for specific entry requirements
    • If you have completed a recognised international foundation programme with good grades
    • Advanced entry to year 2 or 3 may be possible. You will need to supply detailed information including courses taken, grades achieved, syllabus and a grading guide

    Career

    As a BA (Hons) Interior Architecture and Venue Design graduate, you are ideally prepared for the wide variety of employment opportunities available to you, covering everything from generic architecture, or interior design, to venue project management and technical consultancy, depending upon where you wish to focus your career.

    Some of the more popular choices are:

    • Hospitality: hotels, bars and restaurants
    • Leisure: cinemas, theatre, museums, spas and health centres, sports arenas and tourist attractions 
    • Retail: shops, corporate branding and stores
    • Corporate: offices and production facilities

    In all of these areas, you could be involved in new build, refurbishment, change of use or conversions.

    Graduates in the past have also secured employment in the areas of:

    • Theatre and Stage Design
    • Computer Game Environment Design
    • Design of Executive Yacht Interiors

    Your degree and professional qualification will also give you the opportunity to work overseas. Some past students have been employed in Santa Monica, USA and Japan, as well as many other countries.

    Graduation from the course also gives you a sound basis for the opportunity of progression onto other professional qualifications, with some graduates having progressed on to RIBA courses and eventually qualifying as Chartered Architects, either whilst working (part-time) or (full-time) at other Educational Institutions.

    How to Apply

    Before you begin your application make sure you have:

    • Your qualification details including grades and dates taken. You will have the opportunity to upload scanned copies of your qualification certificates/transcripts in the application. If you have no formal qualifications, you can also state this in your application
    • A scanned copy of your passport or other official photographic ID e.g. photo driving licence. This will help us verify your application to study with us. If you do not have any photo ID, we will accept a scanned copy of your birth certificate. International applicants can only provide a copy of their passport for visa assessment purposes
    • Your work experience (optional). You can upload a CV into your application or provide the company names and addresses of up to three of your employers
    • A personal statement showing your interest for the course/subject. This is a mandatory requirement and you will be able to upload it into your application. You may want to include your reasons for applying for the course, your experience in the field, how you feel you would benefit from studying and relevant information about your previous studies. You could also tell us about your non-academic experiences such as hobbies, interests, participation in any clubs, societies or voluntary work
    • A relevant reference for the course you have applied for. The reference should be in written format and supplied on company-headed paper, signed and dated from either a manager, supervisor, tutor or teacher
    • If you need to supply two references, this usually means you need to provide one academic reference from any recent study and one employer reference
