    What do factory closures, civil unrest and natural disasters have in common? While the effect of these unsettling events are immediate and intense in local communities, they also have a ripple effect on the global economy as well as people and power structures around the world. In International Political Economy at Trent, students examine and analyze challenging global issues and the interconnected nature of politics and economics in an era of intensifying globalization.

    Build a strong foundation for a broad range of career or postgraduate opportunities in one of the first International Political Economy programs offered in Canada.
    • Study the interconnected nature of politics and economics at the international and global levels
    • Complete a joint major degree as unique as you (and your interests) " combine IPE with virtually any other program from Economics and International Development to Anthropology and Business
    • Take your education global through a year abroad in virtually any country around the world

    • Domestic students (Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents) not currently enrolled in an Ontario high school, and wishing to only apply to Trent University, can do so through the Trent direct application If you are an international applicant or are applying to multiple universities/programs, please apply at www.ouac.on.ca/ouac-105/

    Access Codes:

    If you are currently enrolled in an Ontario secondary school, guidance counsellors will provide you with access codes (school number, student number, temporary PIN) to access the OUAC site and application process.

    All other applicants will create user profiles on the OUAC site and will not require access codes.
