International Studies/Peace and Conflict Research (in cooperation with Goethe University Frankfurt am Main)

About

The Master of Arts in International Studies/Peace and Conflict Research takes place with cooperation between the Goethe University Frankfurt, the TU Darmstadt and the Hessische Stiftung Friedens- und Konfliktforschung (HSFK) (Peace Research Institute Frankfurt PRIF). As a result, students are required to attend at least four courses/lectures at Technical University of Darmstadt and at least six courses/lectures at the Goethe University Frankfurt.

Entry Requirements

1. Admission is through Goethe University Frankfurt 2. a Proof of proficiency in English at B2 (GER) level.

English Program Requirements

You must pass the “Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang” (DSH-2) as evidence that your spoken and written command of the German language is adequate for Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes for which the language of instruction is German.

Participating in the DSH at the Studienkolleg is subject to charge.

Graduates of the Masters degree programme Internet and Web-based Systems can expect a labor market with an increasing demand for specialists as everyday life is continuously becoming more interconnected with computers and networks, and the transported quantities of information are growing at an enormous speed. A variety of prospects is opening up in the innovative sectors of industry, business, and research. Graduates can work in the fields of information search and text mining, knowledge management, Peer-to-Peer technology, mobile telephony, and mobile communications, or they may find employment in the software industry or in classic industries such as the chemical or pharmaceutical industry. For this reason it is important to start early in the degree programme to gain practical work experience in relevant organisations. In this way students can promote themselves as competent professionals in practice and make important professional contacts. The likelihood of finding a good position is definitely heightened if the student is flexible when it comes to commuting or even moving abroad.
