Investigation and Management of Arrhythmias and Blackouts

The award is delivered over eight days in two blocks – one five day block, followed by one three day block five months later, which allows time for consolidation of knowledge and application to practice. In these blocks you cover patient assessment, arrhythmia and blackout management, electrophysiology management, interventions and investigations. This award is supported by the British Heart Foundation.

We help you, as a health care professional to demonstrate advanced knowledge and skills enabling you to care holistically and competently for patients with arrhythmias, blackouts and those at risk of developing arrhythmias, incorporating all aspects of patient assessment, investigations, control, holistic care and management.

Assessment for this award is in two summative parts.

• Part 1 is a 3,000 word assignment (mock article).
• Part two is a multi stationed observed structured clinical examination (OSCE) and Viva Voce. You undertake the OSCE and Viva Voce at the end of the second three day block of study
