    This integrated degree and diploma program offered by Trent University Durham GTA and Durham College gets students career-ready with practical media production experience gained in college, and crucial critical thinking and writing skills developed in university. Through an emphasis on hands-on learning, you'll gain new confidence building a strong portfolio of work that will help launch your future journalism, broadcasting and media.

    Develop career-based skills in journalism, social media and content creation, earning both a university degree in Media Studies with an Option in Creative Writing, and a college diploma in Journalism/Mass Media " all in just four years.
    • Gain valuable work experience with a seven week field placement, working with top media outlets such as the Toronto Star, CBC, CTV News, and Metroland
    • Sharpen your skills participating in non-fiction and creative writing workshops
    • Build a portfolio of work in Durham College's "working newsroom," where you'll explore and create content for all media platforms

    Access Codes:

    If you are currently enrolled in an Ontario secondary school, guidance counsellors will provide you with access codes (school number, student number, temporary PIN) to access the OUAC site and application process.

    All other applicants will create user profiles on the OUAC site and will not require access codes.
