    Why study Kinesiology and Clinical Exercise Physiology?

    Develop the knowledge and skills to address the physical activity needs of special populations. If you have an appreciation for people with disabilities or chronic disease conditions, their lifestyle, and their exercise possibilities, you will find this program of interest. You will learn how to adapt traditional exercise forms, fitness assessment techniques and training protocols to meet the needs of people with physical and sensory impairments. You will learn how the health care delivery system works, and its implications for the field of adapted and therapeutic physical activity.

    • Assessing human movement, performance and function in healthy and clinical populations
    • Developing rehabilitation programs for people with various chronic diseases (including cardiac, pulmonary, metabolic, oncologic, renal) and clients with injuries
    • Creating, planning and implementing a variety of fitness activities and programs for diverse populations
    • Promoting healthy lifestyles to enhance quality of life
    • Conducting workplace assessments to reduce the risk of employee injury
