    Latin American Studies examines cultures, economies, social and political systems, history, and more across the hemisphere. You'll have opportunities to study abroad and participate in service learning with Latin American communities in Ohio. Completion of language courses in Spanish, Portuguese, or French are also required.

    Entry Requirements

    • Non-Refundable $70 Application Fee or Qualified Fee Waiver. (Our application fee is waived for all students who apply by Nov. 1 for 2023 enrollment.)
    • Academic Records
      • Academic records include all secondary school studies, beginning with 9th grade through the most current available at the time of application.
      • Proof of secondary school graduation is required before you enroll at Miami.
    • Proof of English Language Proficiency
      • Provide TOEFL or IELTS test scores or provide alternative proof of English language proficiency.

    Required Documents for Visa

    An I-20 visa document is required to enroll as an international student at Miami University. To receive yours, please first provide the following items:

    • A copy of your passport or national identification card.
    • An international student financial support form with documentation of financial support, such as a bank statement. (Tax returns or letters of employment/income are not acceptable.)
