Latin and Classical Humanities

The Applied Linguistics Track:

o increased expertise in the Latin language and classical culture

o essential theoretical and applied understanding of second language acquisition (SLA)

The Licensure Track

o increased expertise in the Latin language,

o increased expertise in Latin pedagogy

o an initial teaching license in the state of Massachusetts.

The Greek/Latin Track

o increased expertise in Ancient Greek, as needed for entry into a doctoral program in Classics.

o increased expertise in Latin languages, as needed for entry into a doctoral program in Classics.

• Completed UMass Boston online admission application
• Application fee: $60
• An official high school record, leaving certificate and/or graduation examination results or their notarized copies. All documents in foreign languages must be translated by a certified professional. Records must be sent directly from the institution to be considered official.
• Academic recommendation letter (from a school-based counselor and/or teacher)
• 500-word essay
• Test scores
