Mission

The Bachelors Degree Program of the Faculty of Law  is a 240 ECTS credits program of 4 years composed of eight semesters, each with a 30 ECTS workload. One ECTS is equal to 25.5 hours of student workload per semester.

Scientific and technological developments and the globalization process dominating the whole world have necessitated the science of law to develop in this direction and gain new insights. Business has been done not with classical methods but on electronic platforms now, signatures have been appended to online documents and alternative dispute resolution methods have been increasingly used apart from classical jurisdiction procedures. Learning a foreign language is another aspect which has become important for jurists with the globalization process and technology. Learning a foreign language has increasingly become significant in that many disputes include the element of foreignness along with foreign expansion and it is essential to follow legal practices and doctrins closely all over the world.

Vision

As the Faculty of Law of Istanbul Aydin University, what we infer from this situation is that it is essential to incorporate jurists who can especially use English language to reach universal information, who can follow the new developments and who can use information technologies and computer satisfactorily. Along with traditional law courses, we offer the latest developments about the newly developing fields of law whose popularity have been rising. Therefore, we offer undergraduate and graduate course in the fields of International Arbitration Law, Internet Law, International Trade Law, Intellectual Property Law, Competition Law, Banking Law, Environmental Law, Human Rights Law, European Union Law. Besides classical jurisdiction procedures, alternative dispute resolution methods such as arbitration, mediation and reconciliation which have been extensively used in the world, will be identified in detail and the faculty prepares students to become the jurists of the future.

1. Acceptance Letter received from Istanbul Aydin University
2. Turkish translation of High school diploma and transcript
3. Notarization of translated High school diploma and transcript from Notary in Turkey or Turkish Embassy in your country
4. Health Insurance for one year (compulsory – You will make your insurance paperwork in J Block with International Students and Staff Affairs. Insurance Costs between 400,00 to 600,00 TRL)
5. Equivalency Paper (Denklik Belgesi) of High school diploma from Provincial Directorate of Ministry of Education in Istanbul (you will be guided properly on this once you will reach Istanbul Aydin University International Office J - Block)
6. Language Proficiency Certificate
7. Health Insurance for one year (compulsory– You will make your insurance paperwork in J Block with International Students and Staff Affairs.

Law School Graduates can perform many tasks involving political and social responsibilities. They also use some authority and have some status. Jurists can function in almost every area of social life and state level. They may exercise the professions of Judge, Attorney and Notary. Moreover these professions can only be performed by law graduates.

2. High school diploma (a copy translated to Turkish or English)
3. High school transcript (a copy translated to Turkish or English)
4. Photocopy of the relevant pages of your passport
5. 60 % marks (min) in High School
6. For English degree program applicants: TOEFL score -79 points
   (If English is not the first/ official language of the country). 
   (If students do not have TOEFL then he/ she has to qualify English Proficiency Exam, which will be held in IAU. Dates will be mentioned at http://int.aydin.edu.tr)
7. For Turkish degree program applicants: TOMER B1 level required.
8. Dentistry and Medicine applicants: TOMER C1 level required.
