    Mission

    In recent years, a need for educated professionals in local government has arisen out of an increase in breadth and depth of local government's responsibilities. Our mission is to inform our students thoroughly so that they can take office within local government, as well as in civil society and private sector. Thus, our graduates improve their ability to undertake new projects related to local government and regional development.

     

    Requirements

    Entry Requirements

    1. Acceptance Letter received from Istanbul Aydin University
    2. Turkish translation of High school diploma and transcript
    3. Notarization of translated High school diploma and transcript from Notary in Turkey or Turkish Embassy in your country
    4. Health Insurance for one year (compulsory – You will make your insurance paperwork in J Block with International Students and Staff Affairs. Insurance Costs between 400,00 to 600,00 TRL)
    5. Equivalency Paper (Denklik Belgesi) of High school diploma from Provincial Directorate of Ministry of Education in Istanbul (you will be guided properly on this once you will reach Istanbul Aydin University International Office J - Block)
    6. Language Proficiency Certificate
    7. Health Insurance for one year (compulsory– You will make your insurance paperwork in J Block with International Students and Staff Affairs.

    Career

    Local government graduates can work at municipalities, special provincial administrations as well as their subsidiaries. They are able to obtain junior and mid-level managerial positions within local administrations. They can also assist senior executives including mayor.

     

    Department Opportunities

    Our students are encouraged to gain experience of working environment by compulsory on-site courses and summer internship. They can be offered a job in district governorships, municipalities and their unions where they usually serve their internship and on-site obligations. They can get an entrepreneurship certificate after passing a course on the subject. They can join free courses provided by the university with the aim of studying two additional years and obtaining a bachelor degree on Political Science, International Relations, Political Science and International Relations, Public Administration, Political Science and Public Administration.

    How to Apply

    1. Passport photograph
    2. High school diploma (a copy translated to Turkish or English)
    3. High school transcript (a copy translated to Turkish or English)
    4. Photocopy of the relevant pages of your passport
    5. 60 % marks (min) in High School
    6. For English degree program applicants: TOEFL score -79 points
      (If English is not the first/ official language of the country). 
      (If students do not have TOEFL then he/ she has to qualify English Proficiency Exam, which will be held in IAU. Dates will be mentioned at http://int.aydin.edu.tr)
    7. For Turkish degree program applicants: TOMER B1 level required.
    8. Dentistry and Medicine applicants: TOMER C1 level required.
