Entry Requirements

Applying with international qualifications (language requirements, application deadlines): International Admission. Requirements for admission to the Masters degree programme comprise 1. a â€œBachelor of Scienceâ€ degree from the programmes B.Sc. Business Administration/Industrial Engineering of the Technical University of Darmstadt or an equivalent degree, for example Economics or Business Mathematics. 2. Proof of proficiency in English. 3. Additional admission requirements: Study Regulations Competences Description Departmental information In order to allow sufficient time for participation in the entrance examination and for visa applications in case of an admission, we strongly recommend to apply up to one year before the desired start of the study programme and not for the following semester. Nevertheless, all required and complete documents must be submitted with the application.

English Program Requirements

You must pass the “Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang” (DSH-2) as evidence that your spoken and written command of the German language is adequate for Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes for which the language of instruction is German.

Participating in the DSH at the Studienkolleg is subject to charge.

Career

Almost all economic sectors are based on the availability of high-performance materials that have to meet increasingly complex demands. It takes specialists for the development of novel or improved (i.e. more efficient, more sustainable, cheaper and/or multifunctional) materials and related processes, particularly regarding the technological progress and the growth of the world population with simultaneously increasing scarcity of raw materials and energy. Graduates can find employment in areas such as material development, material technology (i.e. the development of new production and processing methods), applications engineering, materials testing/quality control, and failure analysis. Thus, Materials Scientists can internationally find work in the industrial sector and research institutions but also, for instance, in administration or the insurance sector.
